Precision agriculture will help farmers across Europe produce more profitably and more productively. Some farmers due to their size and because of the nature of what they produce will adopt precision farming techniques before others. But eventually almost all farmers will benefit from these new and emerging data enabled production systems that rely on COPERNICUS data and related services. The use of earth observation data will not enable better and more efficient production, it will also provide greater access to agricultural finance services and simplify the system of CAP payments.

The EO4AGRI project will produce a Whiter Paper on the use of EO in agriculture, as well as a Policy Roadmap, a Cooperation Framework and a Strategic Research Agenda. This work will be carried out in close collaboration with European producers, the associations that represent them and the advisors that support them, to ensure that their needs are addressed in the recommendations provided in the white paper take account of the agro-industry needs.
